Have you ever heard of the term scrupulosity? Many people haven't but it is a common condition. Scrupulosity is the pathological guilt and anxiety about moral issues and accompanies obsessive compulsive disorder. It can affect people who are not religious but it is common for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Thankfully, there is treatment available.

Claire Breedlove offers such treatment. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Claire specializes in helping members of the church find reprieve from the distress and dysfunction caused by scrupulosity. She joins me in this episode to discuss how we can identify this in family and friends, how to support them, and what treatment is available for scrupulosity.
