Episode 174: Self Compassion: Giving Yourself Grace Not Guilt with Rachel Thornton LCSW
Sep 16, 2024
As a therapist I am always intrigued by the ideas and therapeutic approaches of fellow therapists. Rachel Thornton is no exception. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker she understands the importance of therapy and believes that self-compassion is an integral part of it. I happen to agree.
However, self-compassion itself is often misunderstood. Many people think it is just an excuse for poor behavior or giving yourself a reason not to improve. I'm here to tell you that couldn't be farther from the truth. Self-compassion is the practice of being kind and understanding to yourself while ALSO working to improve and heal. Listen in as Rachel teaches how to implement that practice into your life.
